Week 2: Practice Lessons 6-10
Lesson 1
Start off on the right track by learning how to hold your guitar for the most comfort.
Lesson 2
It doesn't matter how good of a player you are. If your guitar is not in tune, it's not going to sound good. Learn how to tune your guitar so that you always sounds your best.
I like the clip on tuners, like the Snark: https://amzn.to/3g2mueZ
Lesson 3

Dunlop Acoustic Guitar Variety Pack:Ā https://amzn.to/33Vt2cDĀ
Lesson 4
I'm going to show you how to fret your guitar properly to get the best sound, and then we are going to learn our first exercise to help you start building dexterity in your fingers so that you can work on he fun part of the course: chords.
Chords are how we play songs, and I'm going to teach you some great one's in the course to get your started having fun as soon as possible. But first, let's get those fingers moving.
Lesson 5
Your first two chords! I like teaching these chords first because it only requires you to move the fingers up and down one string. It's a great way to get started. Not only that, after learning these two chords, you can learn the song Horse With No Name by America.
Chord chart & video lesson can be found here:

Lesson 6
The next two chords I usually teach my students that build off of your Em chord are the easy two fingered version of the G and C chord. Why do I teach it this way?Ā
1. It allows us to use a pivot point and only focus on moving one finger at a time.
2. It's much harder to move multiple fingers at the same time when you don't have a lot of dexterity in your fingers.
Lesson 7
By adding the D chord,Ā we are completing part of a key, or a family of chords that sound good together in song. Now, there are so many songs you can play only using Em, G, C and D chords.Ā Click HERE to find some of those songs.
Lesson 8
Now that you know your guitar chords, I am going to discuss the basics of rhythm and strumming the guitar.
Lesson 9:Ā AntotherĀ Song!
Below is another great song that uses only two chords!
Eleanor Rigby - Em and C Chords:

Lesson 10
We are going to talk a bit more about strumming. Particularly up strums on the guitar.
